Hi, I’m Courtney Rago, Psy.D.
(they/she)
I’m genuinely excited to meet you.
My aim as a therapist is to create a safe space where you can explore the deepest parts of yourself without judgment. I hope to empower you to to enter relationships as your authentic self and give yourself permission to slow down, listen to what your feelings are telling you, and advocate for getting your needs met.
I have training in and have conducted research on working with survivors of trauma, incorporating the body and body awareness into traditional talk psychotherapy to facilitate a holistic approach to healing from trauma. I’ve also conducted research on LGBTQ+ identity formation and development, and love working with folks who are giving themselves permission to explore and embody what authenticity, gender, and sexuality means to them while deconstructing and releasing themselves from the roles and narratives that have shadowed their full self. I am particularly passionate about working with trans and nonbinary couples and partnerships who are navigating physical, sexual, and emotional reconnection after identity formation, development, and/or gender affirming care.
I received my Psy.D. (doctor of psychology) in Couple and Family Therapy from Alliant International University in Los Angeles, CA.
